She was first to be buried in the Lyndon B Johnson cemetery. She was supposed to be buried in the Stonewall Cemetery with her husband, but a flood made it impossible to get across the river to that cemetery, so Samuel Ealy Johnson offered the land which was to become the Johnson Family Cemetery.
