Isaac N. Hale served in the Union Army during the American Civil War as a private in Company A, 31st Illinois Infantry Regiment. He entered service on 22 Aug 1861 and mustered in on 18 Sep 1861 in Cairo, Illinois. He died of remittent fever on 12 Aug 1863, probably in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
