About Quist Mollerstrom
The connection between Quist Möllerström in South Africa and Quist Möllerström in Gotland, Sweden, is based upon circumstances. Quist Möllerström in Sweden lives in 1769 in Lummelunda parish with his father after the mothers death as noted in the household examination book. They move the same year to the parish Hörsne. In Hörsne we find the father with his new wife and children. But not Quist. He probably is old enough to work, but there is no trace of him in Hörsne. So he disappears.
The name Möllerström is not unusual in Sweden but combined with first name Quist or Qvist is very unusual. So when a man with that name appears in South Africa ca 1785 we may assume they are identical. But we have no proof, no emigration records, no travel documents.
