About Rabbi Armond Cohen
Rabbi Cohen amassed many achievements and honors. Among them were the following: President of Ohio's Zionist Organization of America and honorary vice president of the ZOA's National Executive Board; author of "All God's Children, A Jew Speaks," a collection of open letters on Jewish-Christian relations, also Jewish beliefs and rituals; member of the Board of Overseers of the Jewish Theological Seminary and the Rabbinical Assembly's Executive Council; head of the Joint Placement Commission of the Rabbinical Assembly and the United Synagogue, placing rabbis in pulpits, and during this time, bringing High Holiday placements under its jurisdiction; founding director of the Cleveland Jewish News; member of the board of the American Foundation of Religion and Health and functioned as Visiting Professor of Pastoral Psychiatry at the Jewish Theological Seminary; member of the Board of Governors of Hebrew University; in 1983, recipient of the National Conference for Community and Justice (formerly the National Conference of Christians and Jews)highest award, the National Human Relations Award; in 2001, inductee into the Glenville High School Hall of Fame; and honorary degrees from several institutions including Baldwin Wallace and the Cleveland Marshall Law School.
He was a loving husband to Anne and father. and one of the longest serving rabbis in America (1934 - 2007) at the Park Synagogue of Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
