About Rabbi Elieser Lipman ben Moshe Jaffe
Rabbi Eliezer ben Abraham Jaffe of Hořovice (Hebrew: אליעזר בן אברהם יפה מהוז'וביצה) was a 16th-century Bohemian rabbi and scholar. Born Kazimierz, Poland, his father Abraham of Bohemia owned several highly profitable estates and assets, however, the majority of his fathers wealth went to his older siblings. Nevertheless, Rabbi Eliezer was still a wealthy man and established himself as a learned rabbi in Hořovice, Czech Republic where he died around 1560.
It should be noted that he is not a paternal ancestor of Joel Sirkis. Seeing as the Jewish Encyclopedia clearly states that his son Moses of Krakow was the maternal grandfather of Joel Sirkis and not the paternal. Stating that Moses was "the grandfather of Joel Sirkes" and that "The daughter of Moses Jaffe was the wife of Samuel Sirkes (Joel Sirkis's father)" additionally all reputable Jaffe rabbinic family trees will show Joel Sirkis having a maternal connection to the Jaffe family as opposed to a paternal one.
