Rachford George Harris

HARRIS, Rachford Died peacefully at his home one month before his 98th birthday. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Erna (Krohn) and Colonel George W. Harris. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carlota (Arguello), his daughter, Alexsandra, his parents, and his siblings, Albert, Thomas, Priscilla (Allen), and Margorie (Dann). The family moved to Los Angeles in 1920. Rach attended Los Angeles High School and then Stanford University, graduating in 1935. Rachford met his lifetime love, Carlota, and married her in 1939 in her hometown of Managua, Nicaragua. Rach and Carlota had three daughters, Alexsandra, Victoria and Christina. He leaves behind two daughters, one grandchild, Tristan, and many nieces and nephews. His friends ranged from his early years, Stanford, and those he met through his business, golfing, the Center for Healthy Aging, and the Unitarian Church. He was devoted to many philanthropies and many depended on his counsel. He will be missed by all who knew this loving generous friend.
