Rae (Rebecca) Gerstenbluth (Arie)

Riefke (Rebecca (Rae) – Paul, Martin and Chet’s mother), Sebla (Sophie – Chet’s aunt). Important in rearing her three sons. 

Rachel (Arie) Gerstenbluth (On ship’s manifest as Ruchal Arie) (Chet’s maternal grandmother) (b. 1873 – d. 1938) born in Galicia (part of Austria-Hungary Empire, now part of the Ukraine). She emigrated on the ship Uranium from Rotterdam, Netherlands, December 28, 1912. The Uranium ran aground at Chebucto Head, Halifax, Canada on January 12, 1913. With her on the ship were two of her four daughters; Riefke (Rebecca (Rae) – Chet’s mother), Sebla (Sophie – Chet’s aunt).
