Ramona Lee Carmitchel

Ramona L. Carmitchel, Basehor, KS, ended her journey at the Golden Living Center in Lansing, KS on April 5, 2011 at the age of 78. Ramona is now in Heaven with her husband of 50 plus years, Charles A. Carmitchel, Jr; her parents, Ralph & Vona Odneal; brother, Robert L. Odneal; and two grandchildren, Tara Cline and Phillip G. Cline, Jr. Ramona was born in Kansas City, KS on November 13, 1932. She was married to Charles A. Carmitchel, Jr. in August 1951. Together they raised five children and were always a very close family. Celebrating her life and memories are their children, Teresa (Chuck) Jones; Richard (Carol) Carmitchel; Alan (LeeAnn) Carmitchel; Chuck (Debbie) Carmitchel; and Doug (Mary) Carmitchel; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Ramona was a busy homemaker who doted on raising her children and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ramona loved dogs and enjoyed raising tea-cup poodles and grooming. Her constant companion, Samson, will miss her very much. Ramona and Charles enjoyed camping with friends, and although she didn't like fishing, she certainly enjoyed having margarita's by the campfire! Our sincere thanks to the staff at Golden Living-Lansing for their compassionate and loving care given to our mother and to Asera Care Hospice for their commitment and comfort care to Mom. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, with a visitation one hour before at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Basehor, KS.
