Rebecca Latimer, eldest known child of the Wethersfield, Conn. immigrant settlers John & Ann Latimer, b. at Wethersfield Oct. 6, 1646 where she d. Aug. 23, 1734, Æ 88.

In circa 1665, Rebecca m. Lieut. James Treat, bapt. July 20, 1634 at Pitminster, Somersetshire, England. [It is otherwise claimed that the date of marriage was Jan. 26, 1664/5, but there is no primary record that confirms a specific date. Such date is suspicious on its face, as the first child of record was b. almost 15 months later in April 1666 when in that era it was very normal for the first child to be born under 11 months following the wedding night.]

Lieut. James Treat & Rebecca Latimer had ten children of record at Wethersfield, who are outlined in their father's memorial.
