Rebecca Lynn (Becky) Reisenauer Weidert was born Oct. 11, 1984, in Moscow, to Delbert and Donna (Gormsen) Reisenauer. She died Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at her Moscow home.
She grew up in Moscow, attending Moscow schools, and graduated from Moscow High School in 2003. Becky then attended the University of Idaho, graduating in 2009 with degrees in psychology and child development and family relationships, consistently being on the dean's list. She was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 3 and lived with many health problems throughout her life. The way she lived her daily life was an inspiration to others.
Becky enjoyed knitting, scrapbooking, reading, horror movies, playing on her cellphone, fishing, her cats, and spending time with family. With limitations on her physical capabilities, she excelled at arts and crafts and won numerous awards at the Latah County Fair. Becky also enjoyed traveling, having traveled in the past five years to Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, Florida and Alaska.
She and Peter Weidert were married March 17, 2007, at the Moscow Nazarene Church. He survives at their Moscow home, along with her parents, Delbert and Donna Reisenauer of Moscow; her mother-in-law, Judy Weidert of Athena, Ore.; and her grandparents, Lucille Gormsen of Moscow and Gerald and Judy Reisenauer of Moscow; her cats, Cookie and Tigger; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Donald Gormsen; and her father-in-law, Jerry Weidert.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 1, at the Moscow Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Delbert Durfee of the Athena Christian Church officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the humane society or to the Gritman Medical Cancer Research Center.
