"Henry Hardy, born 1717, son of Thomas H, farmer, West Craigs, Corstorphine, and Janet Bryce ; educated at Univ. of Edinburgh ; licen. by Presb. of Edinburgh 29th Nov. 1738 ; called 18th June, and ord. 3rd Sept. 1741 ; died of consumption 4th May 1 752. He marr. 6th Dec. 1743, Ann (born 12th Oct. 1719, died 4th June 1805), daugh. of John Halkerston, town clerk of Culross, and had issue — Janet, born 1744 (marr. Robert Liston, min. of Aberdour) ; Anne, born 19th April 1746; Thomas, Professor of Divinity and Ecclesiastical History, Univ. of Edinburgh, and min. of New North Parish there, born 22nd April 1748; John, born 16th Jan. 1750, died 20th April 1752; Henry, born 10th Oct. 1751, died 23rd March 1752."
