According to family lore:
GERMAN-DUTCH DESCENT, BORN IN THE NETHERLANDS.
CAME TO THE COLONIES WITH 3 BROTHERS IN LATE 1700'S.
SERVED IN THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION WITH THE PENNSYLVANIA RANGERS ON THE FRONTIERS. STAKED LAND CLAIMS FROM OHIO RIVER TO NC IN 1785, MET ALBERT BIFFLE WHO TOLD HIM ABOUT HIS SISTER, ELIZABETH WHO LIVED IN HAPPY VALLEY NC, WHICH IS NOW TENNESSEE.
MARRIED AND BOUGHT 320 ACRES ON THE FRENCH BROAD RIVER.
THEY BUILT A LOG HOME, CLEARED LAND, FARMED IN LAND THAT BECAME TOWN OF WEAVERVILLE, NC.
HE WAS THE FIRST WHITE SETTLER.
THEY RAISED 11 CHILDREN.
Confirmed relative (likely brother) of Frederick Weaver through the Weaver FTDNA project.
Genetic testing conducted on December 24th 2022 confirmed a paternal Jewish origin for the Weaver family, with an ultimate origin in the Middle East. No Ashkenazi DNA was found, indicating descent from early Italkim Jews in Switzerland. These Jews had established themselves in Roman settlements from the Rhine to the British Isles during the Roman period.
