About Richard Parris Pile
This man is the father of Richard Parris Pile (both of the same name) mentioned here, who was awarded compensation on behalf of slaves in Barbados following abolition in 1807. Both son and father were registered slave owners: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/lbs/person/view/6377.
He was brother to my 4x great grandmother, Ann Walcott Pile.
Richard Parris Pile the younger (Ann's nephew) took is family to Philadelphia and never returned to Barbados after slavery was wound down by 1837. My 3x great grandfather, Thomas Clarke, son of Ann Walcott Pile, brought his family to Australia at the same time, along with other extended family members.
