Richard married Lydia Predmore, daughter of Benjamin Predmore, on Aug 3, 1782 at Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland. Richard married Lydia Predmore, daughter of Benjamin Predmore, on Aug 30, 1782 at Berkeley County, West Virginia. Lt. Richard Prather died in 1789 at Washington County, Maryland.

   Richard's children are listed on his will, dated 1789, filed in Hagerstown MD book A, pg 218-219

   One of the witnesses to Richard's will is Polly Crownover, daughter of his second wife Lydia (Predmore) Covenhoven/Crownover. Polly(Mary) is living with Lydia Prather on the 1790 census and in 1802 married Jonathan Nesbitt of Clear Spring, Washington county MD.

   Their birthdates are from a Prather family history compiled by Ephraim Stout Lillard in 1959.

   Son Thomas who died 1804 was married to Ruth Shipley who also lived in Washington county MD. She is the Ruth Prather on the 1810 census records, Washington county.
