We regret to record the sudden death of Mr. Richard Wood of this town. He was one of the first settlers, arriving here in the Amelia Thompson in 1841, and for many years carried on the trade of a blacksmith. The deceased only returned from England four months since after a visit thither of six years' duration. He was borne to the grave by old friends, most of them shipmates, and tho large attendance of persons on the occasion may justly be regarded as a mark of the regard in which the deceased was generally held.
