About Robert Affleck
"(Born Oct 20). From boyhood a weaver at Lanark, Scot. "Robert Affleck, weaver, Lanark. Age 27, height 5'5", dark complexion, brown eyes, dark hair. Born Drumelzier. Enrolled 2 November, 1808." (Militia records.) Emigrated to Upper Canada with his wife and children in June, 1820 (in the ship "Prompt" from Glasgow -Lesmahagow Emigration Soc.), and was granted W.1/2, Lot 20, Conc.IX, Lanark Twp., District of Bathurst in that year (title in 1837). A Presbyterian Church elder at Lanark, Ont. in 1831. Buried at Middleville Presbyterian Church, Lanark Township." --source: "The Ottawa Valley Afflecks"
