Robert Asa Godsey

Unlike my brother, the Rev. John James Godsey, who was a Corporal in the Confederate States of America during the Civil War, I was a private in the Union Army. You have heard of the War between the States or the Civil War pitting brother against brother, well this is the actual occurance of that situation. It should be noted, that the County of Winston, in Alabama, was also known as the Free County of Winston, in that is was the only County in Alabama that did not secede from the Union.
