Robert was Selectman in Reading in 1654-56, 1658-60, and 1662-72.

Robert was married twice:
First, to Anne (Unknown) about 1653 in Reading. Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Their children were Sarah, John, Robert, Hannah and Mary Burnap.

After her death, about 1661 (eight days after birth of daughter Mary), he married, second,
Sarah Brown in Reading on May 28, 1662. [1] [2] [3] [5] [6] [7]

Robert married Sarah Brown, daughter of Nicholas and Elizabeth (Leids) Brown, on 28 May 1662 at Reading, Middlesex, MA Bay - parents of Joseph, Elizabeth, Lydia, Isaac, Samuel, Benjamin and Dorcas Burnap
