About Robert Carll
Robert Carll moved to Unity, Maine in 1807 with his parents. He later related that, when the family arrived, "there were but two frame house in the town." He and his two brothers, Asa and Nathaniel, all served in the War of 1812. Later, Robert and Nathaniel Carll operated a saw mill in Unity with two Foster brothers. Robert Carll is seen in Unity census records all the way through 1880. He died in Unity on 26 Febuary 1882, age 92, less than a year after the death of his wife Joanna (who died on 28 March 1881, age 87).
