Emigrated to America from England at an unknown date. Was of the Friends (Quaker) faith.

Records [which ones?] of the Quakers show Robert Embree was living in New Haven, Connecticut in 1643.

The first entry in "Records of New Haven" for Robert is January 4, 1643, when he and many others were fined 1 shilling for "late coming to trayne." The training was for sentry duty and possibly militia duty.

Robert took the Oath of Fidelity at New Haven, New Haven Co, CT on 1 Jul 1644.

Robert Embree appears in New Haven Colony records in 1644. Later he moved to Stamford, Connecticut, where he lived until his death in 1656.

In 1646 he was fined 1 shilling for "his defective fence of his gune."

In 1646, he and his wife Mary lived on at Mr. Richard Malbon's farm. Malbon was a magistrate.

1647: New Haven Colony Records (p. 329) makes reference to Robert Emery having purchased a house and lott from Thomas Clark for 11 pounds.

In August of 1649 he purchased his own property possibly in Stamford, Connecticut. He was a farmer, moving to Stamford, Connecticut between 1649-1652 where he was a member of the local militia.

1649: At a court held at New Haven 7 Aug 1649, William Bassett [relative of Mary Bassett Embree?] "passeth over to Robert Emery one house and barne sometime Edward Banisters, which 6 acres and 1/2 of upland on this side ye West River in ye subverbes quarter, the front to ye west lane, ye reareto ye middle of ye quarter.. And 3 acres of meddowe in ye west meddowbetween Jno Clarke & Anthony Tompson, on end butting upon ye West River, yeother end upon ye quarter; and 30 acres of upland on ye other side of ye West River." He married Mary BASSETT in about 1643 in Connecticut.

The last entry in "Records of New Haven" in which Robert is mentioned is dated October 2, 1649 [p. 489]: "Mr. Eaton informed the court that he sometime lett his farme to Robert Emry and Richard Webb, but Robert Emry grew weary and Richard Webb was veryearnest to have it himself..."

Early Embrees were members of the Society of Friends, also known as Quakers, founded in 1652 by George Fox in England.

He died 21 July 1656.
