Robert fitz Roger, 2nd Baron of Warkworth, acquired the barony of Horsford in Norfolk by right of his wife circa 1180. He was Baron of Horsford at Norfolk between 1180 and 1214; he was Lord of Warkworth at Northumberland after 27 May 1199, Lord of Eure at Buckinghamshire after 27 May 1199, Lord of Clavering at Essex after 27 May 1199: That is, Robert obtained a confirmation, upon the accession of King John, of the castle and manor of Warkworth, of the manor of Clavering in Essex, and of the manor of Eure in Buckinghamshire, to hold by the service of one knight's fee each, after 27 May 1199.
