Robert Eugene Hardesty, Jr.

Westville, Illinois - Robert E. Hardesty, 71, of Westville, Illinois passed away at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

Robert was born September 14, 1947 in Danville, Illinois to Robert Hardesty and Margaret (Nipper) Hardesty. He married Pamela VanVickle on February 14, 1969 in Oakwood, Illinois.

He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Elsie (Kevin) Strako, eight Grandchildren, Joshua (Tamara) Hardesty, Zach (Kayla) Spencer, Chad Hardesty, Robert Hardesty, Megan Hardesty, Collin Hardesty, Hannah Hardesty, and Penelope Hardesty, four Great Grandchildren, Wiley Hardesty, Kinslee Spencer, Lukas Spencer, and Falynn Spencer, and two brothers, Herb (Sally)in Hillsboro, Indiana and Danny (Leeann) Hardesty in Winchester, Kentucky, one sister-in-law, Marty Hardesty, and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife Pamela and their two sons, Greg Hardesty and Perry Hardesty, a brother, John (Rick) Hardesty, and his parents.

Robert enjoyed golfing, fishing, poker and spending time with his grandchildren.

Per Robert's request there will be no visitation or funeral services.
A memorial gathering for the Navy veteran will be from noon to 2:00 pm Sunday at Westville American Legion, 115 S. State St. in Westville, Illinois.
