Laurens, May 15 - Funeral services were held from the residence Sunday afternoon for R Vance Irby, Laurens citizen, who died Saturday morning of a heart ailment. Interment in Laurens Cemetery.
Mr Irby was the only son of the late Dr William C Irby and Laura Vance Irby of Laurens. He was also a nephew of the late U.S. Senator, John L M Irby of this city.
He was a cotton buyer and farmer, a member of the board of directors of the Palmetto Bank, and had been identified with civic and fraternal organizations here for many years .
He married Miss Mary Todd, a daughter of the late Dr and Mrs T E Todd of Laurens. She survives him.
