Robert Kempe

Robert Kempe of Gissing, married (1) Elizabeth, dau. of John Apliard of Blacknashe [Braconash], Norfolk, who died before 1490, and had 3 children;

1. Ann who married Richard Bacon of Harleston, Norfolk;

2. Anne [Mary-Harl. 1177] ux Tho Gernegan of Cove in Suffolk;

3. Elizabeth, no issue.

Robert Kempe of Gissing, married, by 1490, (2) Ann, dau. of ____Clifford of Kent. (Muskett says there was a settlement upon her as a married lady in 1490.) They had the following children:

1. Bartholomew Kempe of Gissing who married Ann, dau. of John Alleyne [Allyne] of Bury St Edmunds;

2. Lewis Kempe;

3. Margaret who married Robert Bleverhassett;

4. Florence who married Sir Richard Wooddall of Framston in Suffolk, knight

Robert died in 1526, and his will and inquisition post mortems (one for Norfolk and one for Suffolk) survived, which mention his death date (see Muskett).
