"Robert Lundin Brown, born 25th May 1792, son of James B., min. of Newbattle ; educated at Univ. of St Andrews ; licen. by Presb. of Haddington 26th March 1816; pres. by Lieut.-Gen. James Durham of Largo ; ord. (assistant and successor) 28th June 1821. Joined the Free Church ; min. of Largo Free Church, 1843-77; assumed name of Lundin in 1855 ; died 9th April 1877. He marr.

(1) 15th June 1827, Elizabeth (died 12th Feb. 1868), daugh. of Christopher Lundin of Auchtermairnie and Rachel, youngest daugh. of Andrew Johnston of Rennyhill, and had issue:

  • James, M.D., Malvern, born 4th April 1828, died 2nd May 1872
  • Richard of Auchtermairnie, born 7th Nov. 1829
  • Helen, born 9th May 1832 (marr. 28th Feb. 1860, Thomas Stothart, min. of Free Church, Lumphanan), died at Pau 24th Dec. 1880
  • Robert Christopher, vicar of Lineal-cum-Colmere, Salop, and Khodes, Lancashire, born 17th Nov. 1834, died 16th April 1876
  • Emma Elizabeth, born 23rd Aug. 1836, died in London, 10th April 1878
  • William Oliphant, C.E., born 19th Aug. 1838
  • Arthur Wellesley, H.E.I.C.S., born 31st May 1840, died 1868
