R. P. McMahan Dies At 96

Funeral was to be held Monday at 3:30 PM at McAdenville Baptist Church f or Robert P. McMahan, 96, who died Sunday at 4 AM at his home in McAdenvil le. the pastor, the Rev. W. W. Padgett was to officiate. Burial w as to be in Gaston Memorial Park.

Mr. McMahan had been in failing health for three years and was seriously s ick for several months.

Surviving are his three sons, Jerry McMahan of McAdenville, Julius McMah an of Gastonia, and Charlie McMahan of Morganton; seven grandchildren, a nd 10 great-grandchildren.

The body was to lie in state at the church for one hour before the service s. Carothers Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
