About Robert Millard
Regarding his wife, Mary Harman; The name Harman can be locational and derive from the town of Harms in Germany and may then be associated with the Huguenot or "Flemish Weaver" immigrants of the late Middle Ages.
Last will and testament of Robert Millard;
Robert Millard, a baker, of Great Brickhill, Buckinghamshire leaves to Mary, his wife, in his will, dated April 9, 1767, one acre and an half of three freehold lands, late Hollingworth's, lying together in Grovesbury field upon Great Stonhill in Leighton Bussard, Bedfordshire. This includes land, now in Grovesbury field upon Great Stonhill in Leighton Bussard, Bedfordshire. This includes land, now or late of Henry Millard on the east part and the land now or late of Robert Ashwell on the west part.
From and after the decease of Mary, Robert leaves this land to be shared amongst his children equally between them as tenants in common and not as joint tenants.
Also, Robert leaves to his son, Thomas, two copyhold lands, late Poyntons, lying and being Grovesbury field in Leighton Bussard, Bedfordshire and shooting into Dunstable Way North.
Also, Robert leaves his wife, Mary, all ready money, securities, stocks, and personal estate upon condition that she does not remarry. If Mary has remarried at the time of Robert decease, these are to be divided equally share and share alike among Mary and Robert's living children.
Mary is named as the sole executor of the will.
The will is made in the seventh year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third, by the grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King and Defender of the Faith.
The will is signed by three witnesses and Robert signs both sheets of paper in handwriting distinct from the rest of the will.
It is proven on the 12th day of September 1767 before the Rev. John Stephens, Doctor in Divinity, by the oath of Mary Millard, widow solicit.
