Marriage settlement with Mary Julian is dated 30 July 1818 (Registry of Deeds 734-288-500623).

"Married at Tullamore co Kerry the seat of Christopher Julian Esq, Robert J. Stoney of Greyfort co Tipeprary Esq to Mary only dau of the late Rev. Christopher Julian" - Limerick Chronicle, 1 Aug. 1818.

Recorded in the 1821 census as Robert Stoney (29), living with his wife Mary (27), and daughter Mary (1/2); Eliza Raymond (26) and William Raymond (30), perhaps relations of his future daughter-in-law; and his father Armstrong Stoney (59) - Parochial returns, Modreeny … (National Library of Ireland GO Ms. 572). George Raymond, an attorney of Dublin, was a trustee for his marriage settlement.

Unidentified newspaper: "Robert J. Stoney - Captain in the Tipperary Militia" "died at Killavalla, Borrisokane", 29 May 1850 - www.rootsireland.ie.

An 1852 rental from the Landed Estates Court shows that Robert Johnston Stoney leased land at Killeen, Ballyhaden and Rathmore, including Rathmore Mills, from Thomas Towers in 1832.
