Robert Alexander Watson

WATSON, ROBERT A., 94 OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA　

passed away on Saturday, September 05, 2015 at Keeper of the Flame Morewood, Blairsville, PA. He was born October 18, 1920 in Salem Twp., PA, the son of the late Alex Watson and Hazel (Brown) Watson. Before experiencing ill health, he was an active member of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville. He was a graduate of Blairsville High School Class of 1938. He served in the US Navy as a Motor Machinist's Mate aboard an LST in the Asia Pacific American Theatre during WW II. After he was discharged, he worked as a meat manager for Thorofare in Blairsville from 1946 until his retirement. Bob is survived by his son, Robert A. Watson & wife, Kathryn of Blairsville, PA; daughter, Nancy Stewart & husband, Charles of Kittanning, PA; grandchildren, Brian Watson & wife, Victoria; Erik Watson & wife, Angela; William Stewart & wife, Brenda; and Scott Stewart & wife, Natasha; 5 great grandchildren; and several Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred N. (Newhouse) Watson who died in 2013 and his sister, Hazel Watson Beers. The Family will receive friends on Monday, September 07, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 08, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Rev. William A. Schaefer will officiate. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Hebron Lutheran Church, 125 N. Liberty St., Blairsville, PA 15717 or Blairsville Public Library, 113 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA 15717.
