Robert Wilbur

According to the 1907 published book "Wildbores in America", Robert Wilbur is the family connection to Samuel Wildbore. The book loses track of the connection with Robert's parents (_____ Wilbor and _____ Jenkins had two sons, Briton, who married Ruth ______ and Robert, who married ________).

The first authentic account of Samuel Wildbore which we have is he and his wife Ann (Bradford), the daughter of Thomas Bradford of Yorke County, being admitted to the First Church of Boston, admitted on Dec. 1, 1633.

Samuel was Freeman of Boston, owned considerable property in Taunton and Boston. In November 1637, he was one of a party that was banished from the colony on account of religious views and acting on the advice of Roger Williams, he and others fled to Providence, where they negotiated the purchase of the Island of Aquednek (now RI) from the Narragansett Indians. Was one of the 18 founders of the new colony. One of six (S. Wildbore, John Hull, (Goldsmith), John Porter, Samuel Wilson and Thomas Mumford) listed on the purchase of "The Petaquompscot Purchase"
