Robert I de Montfort-sur-Risle died before 1111. He was the son of Hugues II and an unnamed wife, NOT the son of Hugues II's first wife, who was a daughter of Richard de Beaufour.

ROBERT [I] de Montfort-sur-Risle (-before 1111). Guillaume de Jumièges names (in order) "Hugues le troisième et Robert son frère" as children of "Hugues le second" & his (unnamed) second wife, specifying that both died childless on pilgrimage[2593]. "…Robert de Montfort…" witnessed the undated charter under which Robert III Duke of Normandy donated property to Saint-Etienne de Caen[2594]. His properties were confiscated after he was accused of treason in 1107. He was in Durazzo in 1108[2595]. Henry II King of England confirmed the possessions of the abbey of Bec, including donations by "Roberti de Monte Forti…Adeline sororis ipsius Roberti", by charter dated to [1181/89][2596].
