Rosalie (Rosie) Gallimore, Newport, Washington Rosie went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2009. She was born to John and Nettie Hobbs in Fort Staton New Mexico on October 4, 1935, she was the 5th child raised there and graduated High School in Albuquerque. She met the love of her life Rex Gallimore. Rex and Rosalie where married in 1954. Together they had 5 children. They moved to Shoshone, Idaho in 1972. Rosie worked at the Wood River Care Center in Shoshone. In 1983, Rosie and Rex wanted to go back home, New Mexico, so they moved to Bloomfield and stayed until Rex got sick, they moved back to Capitan, New Mexico where Rex passed away in 1988. Rosie said one man was enough for her so she worked for a time for the State of New Mexico. Health problems sent her back to Idaho where she lived with one or the other of her children helping raise her grand kids. She lived mostly with her baby Sue. Sue took very good care of her mother. She spent the last seven years in Washington with Sue and her husband George Benson of Newport, Washington. Her other baby Cindy and Keith visited often. Mom will be missed so much. She loved to joke, laugh and tease. She did needle work and read until her eyes got to bad so she liked to watch True TV and animal planet. She was presented in death by Parents, her husband Rex of 34 years, her only son Rex (Andy), one daughter Carol Jones, of Buhl, Idaho, 2 sisters and one brother. She is survived by one sister Eidith-Jim Capitan, New Mexico, her daughters, Sue & George Benson of Newport, Washington, Cindy & Keith Engman of Twin Falls, Idaho, Kathy & George Phearson of Roswell, Idaho, her 17 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and her faithful lap friend Woody. Rosie was the best mom anyone could ask for. We will Love and miss her forever. We will celebrate Rosie life on Thursday August 13, at her home from 2-4 pm. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home and Crematory in Newport, WA is in charge of arrangements.
