About Rose Goldberg Sokol

Rose A. Goldberg is the daughter of Morris Goldberg and Bessie Diament (aka Diamond, Diamondstein) Goldberg. It is believed Morris emigrated from Bialystok, Poland/Russia around 1889. Bessie emigrated in 1884, town unknown, possibly from Bialystok also. I have not located their gravesites nor have I located their immigration information. They married in NY around 1890. Their first child, Mamie/Mae Goldberg was born Dec 1892, Rose was one of their 5 children born in New York. Rose married Abraham Sokol in NY on 21 August 1910. They had two daughters: Ruth Gladys Sokol, born in NY in 4 March 1911 and Irene Sokol, born 23 March 1917 in Cincinnati, OH. A search by NY Vital Records did not find any birth certificate for Ruth. Abraham G. Sokol was a bricklayer. Rose and Abraham divorced and each married a second time. Rose married Julius Neidorf and they had two children together, Murray Herbert Neidorf and Gloria Neidorf. Both were born in NY although I have been unable to locate a birth certificate on Gloria at this time. (Aug 2017). Julius died and Rose did not marry again. Roger Lowen Browdy is the manager of this record. He is married to a distant relative. He will correct any inaccurate and incorrect information on this tree when necessary. Roger Lowen Browdy is the person who has added the name Gedaliah as the name of Rose's first husband. Their marriage license shows Abraham G. Sokol and his Petition for Naturalization uses Abraham. Gedaliah is a Hebrew name meaning Jeremiah. Submitted by Arlene Gloria Lehman Baldwin, granddaughter of Rose Goldberg Sokol Neidorf and Abraham G. Sokol. 9 April 2018.
