Rose Agnes de Ville

Rose was fiercely independent and self-reliant, though she was also a friend and good neighbor to all who knew her. She loved to garden and cook holiday dinners for the family. She enjoyed having Denise and Michaelann spend weekends at her house in Lakewood. Her best childhood friend Mae (and Charles) Tolson spent time together playing cards, window shopping downtown and enjoying afternoon tea.

Rose was a superb role model for working single mothers. She overcame many obstacles and shattered the glass-ceiling of her time.
