Ruby M. (Newhouse) Hewitt, 89, of Walker, went to be with the Lord Jan. 15, 2010.

She was born in Wood County on March 30, 1920. She was a daughter of the late Ernest and Catherine (Peters) Newhouse. She was Baptist and a homemaker.

She is survived by her two daughters, Janet (William) Wiegel of Parkersburg and Jeanie (Gene) Hilton of Parkersburg; two sons, Ronald (Sharon) Hewitt of Walker and James "Jim" Hewitt of Walker; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Hall of Parkersburg and Elenor McClung of Parkersburg; four brothers, Samuel Newhouse of Davisville, Delbert Newhouse of Dayton, Ohio, Bill Newhouse of Ravenswood and Jerry Newhouse of Davisville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow M. Hewitt; sister, Virginia Stutler; two brothers, Robert and David Newhouse; and three infant brothers and sisters.

Service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Pastor Joe Busch officiating. Interment will follow at Walker Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. An online guestbook may be signed at www.leavittfuneralhome.com
