Here's all I know about Jackson (from a family history book I wrote a few years back): "It is said by descendants that Betsy Bartlett worked the bellows to make the nails that held together the first keelboat made by her father and brothers at Little Hocking. The Allens loaded the boat with goods and floated it down to New Orleans. When Betsy's brother, Jackson 'Captain Jack' Allen, came home with a handsome profit, Reuben decided to build another boat. The second boat was launched with Captain Jack at the helm, but despite a long and hopeful wait, his family never heard from Jack again. Reuben was remembered to have said if Jack did come home, he would kill him ~~ unfortunately, the only words of Reuben Allen to be passed on to his descendants."
