Ruth May Aylor

Ruth May Berry Aylor, 94, of Madison died on Sunday, March 07, 2010 at Autumn Care Nursing Home. She was born on January 29, 1916 in Graves Mills to the late Granville and Edith Jenkins Berry.

Mrs. Aylor was a member of FT Baptist Church and a volunteer for the Piedmont United Way through the Senior Center. She was a proud caregiver, babysitter and homemaker to many throughout her life. She enjoyed gardening and doing yard work but above all her faith and her family were her priorities in life.

She is survived by four children, John Russell Aylor and his wife, Barbara of Culpeper, R. Bruce Aylor of Haymarket, Floyd Irvin Aylor of Sherwood, OR and Mary Ann Jenkins and her husband, Daniel of Reva.

Additional survivors include her eight grandchildren, Kevin Aylor, Shelley Davenport, Steve Aylor, Angela Galyean, Mark Aylor, Lisa Seeley, April Dodson and Andrew Aylor, eight great-grandchildren and two faithful friends, companions and caregivers, Mary Rakes and Debbie Strickler.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Walker Berry, Alice Suit, Estelle Lane and Bertha Hubbard.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike Culpeper, VA 22701.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. at F.T. Baptist Church (Slate Mills), 3143 Slate Mills Road Sperryville, Virginia 22740 with Pastor Danny Yowell and Rev. John Farrar officiating.

Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Aylor, Steve Aylor, Mark Aylor, Andrew Aylor, Rob Galyean and Darren Dodson.
