Ruth Brewster

Born Nov. 9, 1709 in Milford (Milford Vital Records). Her mother, Ruth Smith Briscoe, died on Nov. 17, 1709. She married Joseph Brewster, son of Timothy and Mary (Hawkins) Brewster. They removed to Setauket, Long Island.

In April 1734 she married Joseph Brewster, Esq., son of Timothy Brewster and Mary Hawkins and a very prominent family. Ruth and Joseph had six children: •Ruth Brewster (1734-1787) •Mary Brewster (1735-1787) •Lt. Ruth Briscoe was the first and only child of Samuel Briscoe and Ruth Smith. Her mother apparently died from complications from childbirth. Her father a few years later married Abigail Platt who helped in raising her and her half-siblings.

In April 1734 she married Joseph Brewster, Esq., son of Timothy Brewster and Mary Hawkins and a very prominent family.
