About Sabina "Judy" Borovicka - Marshall
1930 - Cannon Ball Township, Hettinger County, North Dakota.
Sabina Senger Marshall, known as "Judy" to friends, died March 9, 2009. She was born Dec. 13, 1923, in Bismarck, North Dakota. Her parents were Matthew Senger and Martha Kraft, and her brother was Joseph Senger.
She grew up on her grandparents' farm in North Dakota with her family. During the Great Depression, the family moved to Montana and then to California to find work. In Oakland, Calif., Judy started Catholic school and graduated in 1944. During this time, her brother ,Joseph, died in Holland during WWII.
After graduation, Judy met and married Jack Borovicka in December 1944. They had one son, Richard, born in 1945.
Her husband, Jack, and her mother, Martha, drowned in Florida in September 1947. Judy and her son, Richard, then moved to Portland to live with Jack's parents, Joe and Blanche Borovicka.
Judy met James Marshall and they married in July 1949. They had two sons, Gregory, born in 1951, and Michael, in 1957.
After James' retirement in 1978, they moved to Netarts, where they stayed until 2004. James and Judy then moved to Seaside to be close to family.
James preceded Judy in death in April 2008.
Judy treasured camping and fishing with the family, the outdoors and her retirement with friends at the coast.
She is survived by sons Richard, Greg and Mike,; daughters-in-law Sheila Marshall and Jeanne Monroe; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
