About Salomon Better
Salomon Better arrived in the United States for the first time on December 23, 1910 aboard the George Washington ship which departed from the port of Bremen in Germany. He was coming to join cousin Lowy (possibly Morris?). Later, Salo Better returned to the United States from a trip to Europe on March 19, 1922 on the Peninsula State ship sailing from Bremen, Germany. He resided at the time on 424 E. 50 St., New York City, having become a US citizen at the Supreme Court in the Bronx on April 30 1920. Together with him arrived Chana Sara, 21 years old at the time. This information was obtained from the web site of Ellis Island.
Salo is buried in Lakeside Memorial Park Miami, Florida; Block Negev #2, Div D, Row 2, Grave 53.
