---"Salvator MUSCOE Sr., an Italian stone cutter. Salvator Muscoe had moved to London, England after the great fire of 1666 had destroyed much of the city. His skill as a stone cutter was employed in the rebuilding of the city and he worked under the direction of Sir Christopher Wren in the construction of St. Paul's Cathedral. Salvator Muscoe Sr. emigrated from London to Virginia in about 1685 and was a neighbour to one of the GARNETT families then living in the colony."
Do not confuse with his son. The elder Muscoe probably did not leave England. The younger is in Virginia records beginning 1702

14. All over the Roots Web World Connect Project, researchers are saying that Salvator Muscoe, Sr. was born in ca. 1640-45...where did they come up with that? They give no sources. They say that Salvator Muscoe, Sr. came to Virginia with his family in ca. 1685 and they lived in Gloucester, then Stafford, then Essex Counties in Virginia. I thoroughly researched those counties and found no record of Salvator Muscoe, Sr. at all. And I only found Salvator Muscoe, Jr. in Essex County, Virginia beginning in 1702. Again...they give no sources. Where are they digging up this information? I'm going crazy trying to find it! They say that Salvator Muscoe, Sr. was married to Mary Hucklescott and that Salvator Muscoe, Jr. was married to Mary Beverley and vice versa...again...they give no sources...and I can find no proof.
