1732, January 14. Allen, Samuel, of Amwell, Hunterdon Co., yeoman; will of. Wife, Martha, sole legatee and executrix for bringing up of children whose names are not given. Witnesses - Charles Woolverton (?), John Carr, George Fox and Samuel Green. Proved May 3, 1733. Executrix a Quaker. [Note: Thomas Stockton, Sr., of Albemarle County, Virginia, became a Quaker.]
1732, February 19. Inventory of estate, £97.5.0, incl. what was found in the weaving room, loom, tubs, etc.; fifteen head of cow kind; twelve head of swine; eight head of horse kind; one servant man; made by Charles Woolverton and Samuel Green.
1734, May 15. Account of Samuel Arnold and Martha, his wife, late Martha Allen, executrix of will of Samuel Allen. Mentions Joseph Higby, William Montgomerie, Stephen Pidcock, Daniel Howel, Elizabeth Reed, John Mullin, William dugdale, Thomas Woollverton, Thomas McClehan, isaac Herrin, Joseph Reed, Isaac Arey, Richard Hough, Christian Cornelius, Frances Bowes. On 1 March 1743 he he patented 200 acres of land on the branches of Ivy Creek. [Goochland Co. Patent Bk. 22:42.] His will dated 9 May 1765 left everything to wife Martha Arnold. No children were mentioned by name or otherwise. [Albemarle Co. Will Bk. 2:179-186.] The will was probated July 1765. His estate was inventoried 20 July 1765, and valued at £224.4.10.
