Samuel Blakely granted 400 acres on Sinking Creek. Surveyed 23 Sept 1808. Book 14.(Ref: Ky Land Grants, Ancstery, Feb 1998) Jno Blakey granted 200 acres in Christian Co., Ky on Horse Creek. Surveyed 10 July 1805. 31 July 1835 David Elder to Samuel Blakely for $700.00 170 acres on Rose Creek. Wits: John H. Lowe, Thomas Lowe, Sr, Jno H Lowe Sr, JP Red 6 Aug 1835. (Clarke Co., GA Deed Book D, pps 382-3) Samuel Blakely moved from Virginia to Clarke Co., GA around 1800 but left about 1802 and moved to Christian CO., KY. He moved back to Clarke Co., GA about 1822. According to the Ky census of 1810 Samuel was in Christian Co. Ky with his father John and his brother James. Samuel lived in Elder's District,Clarke Co., GA in 1832 and was granted land in Bartow and Lumpkin Co., Ga in the Land Lottery of 1832. On 7 August 1834, he witnessed a land sale of 45 acres on Rose Creek by David Elder, Sr. to Moab Haile. Another witness was Grace B. Haygood. The deed was recorded 2 Sept 1834.
