Samuel Gorton, son of John, was born July 22, 1672, at Warwick, RI. He married on May 9, 1695, Elizabeth Collins who was born November 1, 1672, daughter of Captain Elizur and Sarah (Wright) Collins. Their son Samuel, born at Warwick, January 2, 1706, married, January 21, 1731, Mary Rice. She was, born January 24, 1710, daughter of Captain John and Elnathan (Whipple) Rice. (p. 160 and p. 180) [1] [2]

Samuel was Justice of the Peace in Warwick, where his children were born. [1]

He died February 16, 1796. His will, June, 1793, proved September 12, 1796. [1]
