Samuel Hinckley

Interestingly, Samuel has two records of his birth - each in different states! One shows Samuell Hinckley, son of Samuel and Mary, born in Harwich, Massachusetts[1]; another shows him born in Phippsburg, Maine, in 1711, the twin brother of Mary Hinckley and son of Samuel and Mary (Freeman) Hinckley.[2]

Interestingly, Samuel has two records of his birth - each in different states! One shows Samuell Hinckley, son of Samuel and Mary, born in Harwich, Massachusetts[1]; another shows him born in Phippsburg, Maine, in 1711, the twin brother of Mary Hinckley and son of Samuel and Mary (Freeman) Hinckley.[2]

In any case, he married Sarah Miller, and they resided in Brunswick, Maine, until at least 1742; sometime afterwards they removed to Georgetown, Maine, where they remained. They had 11 children: John, Mehitable, Samuel, Mary, Josiah, Edmund, William, Seth, Nathan, Sarah and Reliance.[3]
