Schmuel Hollaender was born in Jaslo, Poland in 1869 to Yehuda and Beila. He was a merchant and married to Braindel nee Haber. Prior to WWII he lived in Hannover, Germany. During the war he was in Pilzno, Poland.

Schmuel was murdered in the Shoah (according to this source).
