About Samuel Kreinik
Betty Kreinik, Mar 2013: Sam was a gambler, a black sheep. He didn't work but followed the horses. A rabbi at a temple in Baltimore introduced him to the temple secretary, maybe named Frieda. They married. She got pregnant and had a child named Allen, who became a meteorologist.
Samuel Kreinik was born in Debica, Dębica County, Podkarpackie Voivodeship, Poland on April 20, 1890. He moved with his parents Aaron Kreinik and Gittel/Gussie Elster Kreinik to Cottonport, Louisiana, in the early 1900s, where the family was in the dry goods business. In 1893 they moved to Buffalo, NY, where the family owned eventually several shops for men's furnishings.
