About Samuel Martin
Martinpur village was established in 1898. The village was named, "Martinpur" in honor of Dr. Samuel Martin. Dr. Samuel Martin, a United Presbyterian Church Missionary secured this land and selected 72 families from different parts of the province of Punjab to come and live in this new canal area. Most of these families had a very humble beginning. The Boys' School was started in 1915.
Christian Boy's High School, Martinpur was denationalized in 2002 with deteriorated buildings and broken furniture. In short span of time there is a marked difference in physical structure as well as academic standard.
