Samuel Perry was the son of John and Ann (nee Newman) Perry who immigrated from Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, England on the "LION" in 1632 and settled in Roxbury, Mass. one of the ships after the Mayflower.

Samuel married Sarah Stedman, on January 28, 1668 at Roxbury, Mass. They were the parents of: Sarah, Samuel, Elizabeth, John, Thomas, Nathaniel, Joseph, Mary and Isaac.

He was Apprentice to John Ruggles.

Samuel was a member of the Church at Roxbury. Freeman Oath April 18, 1690.


Samuels last will and testament dated 1 Mar 1706, proved 30 Jun 1706, names wife Sarah Perry, sons John, Thomas, Isaac, Joseph, daughter Mary Perry.[6]

Sarah Stedman was born about 1648 at Scituate, Plymouth County. She was the daughter of Isaac Stedman and Elizabeth Winchester. Sarah married Samuel Perry 28 Jan 1668/69 at Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. Samuel Perry was born 1 Mar 1639/40 at Roxbury. He died 6 Apr 1706 at Roxbury, age 66 years. Sarah (Stedman) Perry's will was proved 27 Nov 1727 at Suffolk, Massachusetts.
