Samuel Stevens of Andover

Not the same as Samuel Stevens of Hampstead who married Rachel Heath.

SAMUEL STEVENS,[1] b. at Andover, 29 May 1677[2] son of John Stevens and Esther (Barker) Stevens; d. at Andover, 1718 (probate 14 Apr 1718); m. at Andover, 15 May 1707,[3] ELIZABETH BARKER, b. 1679 daughter of William and Mary (Dix) Barker;[4] Elizabeth d. at Andover, 3 Apr 1766.[5]

Samuel Stevens and Elizabeth Barker were the parents of five children born at Andover:

• i MARY STEVENS, b. 1708; d. at Middleton, 9 Mar 1752; m. at Andover, 22 Apr 1740, as his second wife, MARK HOW, b. at Boxford, 18 Apr 1701 son of John and Sarah (Cave) How; Mark d. at Middleton 1778 (probate 2 Nov 1778). Mark married first Dorothy and married third Eunice White Kinney.
• ii SAMUEL STEVENS, b. 1710; d. at Andover, 27 Apr 1754; m. at Andover, 9 Aug 1737, HEPHZIBAH INGALLS, b. at Andover, 1711 daughter of James and Hannah (Abbott) Ingalls.
• iii ESTHER STEVENS, b. Dec 1711; m. at Andover, 5 Mar 1745/6, as his second wife, THOMAS WILKINS, b. at Boxford, 21 Mar 1700 son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Towne) Wilkins; Thomas d. at Middleton, 1767 (probate 2 Jun 1767). Thomas was first married to Miriam Upton.
• iv JOSHUA STEVENS, b. 1 Nov 1714; d. at Andover, 1796 (probate 9 Nov 1796); m. 1st at Andover, 28 Apr 1744, ELIZABETH STANLEY, b. 1722; Elizabeth d. at Andover, 28 Oct 1764. Joshua m. 2nd at Andover, 29 Jul 1766, HANNAH BURNAP; Hannah d. after 1799 when she provided accounting related to the estate of her son David who was non compos mentis.
• v DAVID STEVENS, b. about 1715; d. at Andover, 1755 (probate 22 Dec 1755). David did not marry.
